Hedge bets don’t really reduce the house edge, but you can see the logic. If pass line bets lose on the comeout when 2, 3 or 12 are rolled, why not also make a small wager on any craps?

I was an actor in the 1970’s and 80’s, and in 1988 (or so) I played the role of the degenerate craps player Joe Grady in Frank D. Gilroy’s The Only Game in Town. Warren Beatty played Joe in the movie version. I heard he was okay.
